The Patriot, Braveheart, and Emotional Consistency

Recently, I have both just seen both of these movies. Braveheart (1995,) and The Patriot (2000.) After watching both, I came away with a greater sense of pleasure with The Patriot. It was a gripping and exciting move, and Braveheart feltlike a good movie, but something seemed off.

Obviously, Braveheart is a phenomenal movie, but it lacked the thematic elements and character development that The Patriot had.
